SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 23 (SeeNews) – The water utility company serving the Bulgarian capital Sofia - Sofiyska Voda, said on Tuesday that it has signed a 1.8 million levs ($1 million/920,000 euro) agreement with a tie-up between local companies Ratec and Raicommerce Construction.
The deal concerns the laying of new road surfaces after Sofiyska Voda carries out repairs of its water supply network, the water utility said in a notice.
The contract covers 30% of Sofiyska Voda’s concession territory.
The tie-up submitted the sole offer in the tender for the contract.
According to registry agency data, Ratec holds 97% interest in the tie-up.
Sofiyska Voda was established in October 2000 under a 25-year concession contract for the operation and maintenance of Sofia's water supply and sewerage system. France's Veolia Water owns 77.1% of the company's capital, while the Sofia municipality holds a stake of 22.9%, according to data from Sofiyska Voda's website.
