February 11 (SeeNews) - Sofinvest, the company responsible for the maintenance of the engineering and social infrastructure of Bulgaria's Sofia municipality, said on Tuesday it has invited local firms Ulichno Osvetlenie and Log-Siberia to repair the municipality's street lighting network under an estimated 2 million levs ($1.1 million/1.0 million euro) contract.
The selected companies will be responsible for the delivery of the necessary technical equipment and materials, the replacement of old street lights with new energy-efficient LED lights along with the replacement of cables, street light poles and power boxes, the municipality-owned Sofinvest said in a notice.
The contracting authority has selected the companies without launching a public procurement procedure, due to the urgency of the needed works.
Ulichno Osvetlenie manages and maintains the street lighting on the territory of Sofia municipality and neighbouring municipalities. Sofia-based Log-Siberia's main activities include design and construction of electrical equipment and street lighting systems.
Ulichno Osvetlenie was invited to repair the street lighting in the western, southern and eastern parts of the municipality, while Log-Siberia will be in charge of works on the street lighting in the northern parts.
