September 11 (SeeNews) - ViK Shumen, the water utility servicing the Bulgarian city of Shumen, said that it has decided to cancel a tender for awarding a contract for construction of a drinking water treatment plant (DWTP), worth an estimated 21.7 million levs ($12.2 million/11.1 million euro).
The tender was cancelled due to changes to the building permit, which will lead to a significant change in the subject of the tender, the company said in a notice last month.
The public procurement procedure had attracted offers from two companies - Geostroy and Stroitelno-predpriemacheski Holding, as well as one tie-up comprising local Obonato Build and Pureko.
The contract is expected to benefit from EU funding under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020.
According to local business news outlet Capital, the tender is expected to be relaunched in early October.
