December 10 (SeeNews) - Total revenue from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria in October grew 11.9% year-on-year to 35.5 million levs ($20.5 million/18.2 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Friday.
The revenue from overnights spent by foreign nationals amounted to 13.6 million levs in October, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights spent in the country in the month under review totalled approximately 614,200, down 1.8% on an annual comparison basis. Some 176,800 of total overnights were spent by foreign tourists.
In October, four and five-star accommodation facilities served 37.7% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists and 70.7% of the overnights of international visitors.
The number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in October reached 288,100, down 2.6% compared to the same month a year earlier, with a 9.9% decrease in the number of Bulgarian tourists and a 29.1% increase of international visitors.
