January 12 (SeeNews) - The revenue from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria fell by an annual 62.5% in November, to 16 million levs ($10.0 million/8.2 million euro), due to the coronavirus crisis, the statistical office said on Tuesday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals declined by 66.9% on the year in November, while revenues from overnights by Bulgarian tourists decreased by 59.5%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights spent in the country in the month under review fell 59.2% year-on-year, to some 311,600.
The largest drop in the number of overnights, by 70.1%, was registered by four and five-star accommodation facilities which served 30.7% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists and 50.3% of the overnights of international visitors.
A total of 138,700 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in November, 66.5% less compared to the same month of 2019.
