October 10 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria rose by an annual 4.5% in September, reaching 152.6 million levs ($90.8 million/78 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals increased by 5.6% year-on-year in September, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists grew by 1.0%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria rose 0.5% on the year to 3.09 million in September.
The largest increase in the number of overnights, by 3.9%, was registered by four- and five-star hotels.
Four- and five-star hotels serviced 72.7% of the total number of overnights of international visitors and 33.1% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
A total of 797,600 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in September, up 1.8% year-on-year.
