December 12 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria rose by an annual 0.8% in October, reaching 44.8 million levs ($27.0 million/22.9 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals increased by 3.9% year-on-year in October, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists fell by 2.6%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria fell 1.9% on the year to 864,700 in October.
The largest decrease in the number of overnights, by 6.3%, was registered by one- and two-star hotels.
Four- and five-star hotels serviced 72.1% of the total number of overnights of international visitors and 35.3% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
A total of 422,200 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in October, down 4.0% year-on-year.
