February 10 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria increased 14.7% year-on-year in December, reaching to 41.6 million levs ($22.6 million/21.3 million euro), the statistical office said on Friday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals grew 19.8% on the year in December, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists increased 11.6%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights in Bulgaria increased by 13.2% on the year in December, reaching 808,200.
The largest share of overnights, 69.2%, was registered by four- and five-star hotels. Three-star hotels serviced 21.4% of the total number of overnights by international vistors and 28.5% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
In December, a total of 419,024 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria, 25% of them being foreign nationals.
