April 11 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria increased 7% year-on-year in February, reaching 45.8 million levs ($24.8 million/23.4 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals grew 14% on the year in February, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists edged up 0.2%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights in Bulgaria added 0.4% on the year in February, reaching 907,500.
The largest increase in the number of overnights, by 10.5%, was registered by three-star hotels. Four and five-star hotels serviced 72.1% of the total number of overnights of international visitors and 36.4% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
A total of 381,171 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in February, of whom 34% were foreign nationals.
