September 14 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights in Bulgaria increased 18% year-on-year in July, reaching 286.3 million levs ($164.2 million/146.3 million euro), according to official statistics.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals grew by an annual 20.5%, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists added 7.7%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement on Tuesday.
The number of tourist overnights in Bulgaria increased by 18.1% on the year in July, reaching 5.73 million.
The largest increase in overnights, by 20.9%, was registered by four- and five-star rated hotels.
Four and five-star hotels serviced 61.2% of the total number of overnights by foreign tourists and 23.3% of the total overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
In July, a total of 1.16 million tourists overnighted in accommodation places in Bulgaria, with 60.6% of them being foreign nationals.
