June 12 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria rose by an annual 16.9% in April, reaching 44.2 million levs ($25.3 million/22.5 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals increased by 32.9% year-on-year in April, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists grew by 3.1%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria rose 11.5% on the year to 908,000 in April.
The largest increase in the number of overnights, by 18.3%, was registered by four and five-star hotels, which serviced 73.1% of the total number of overnights of international visitors and 36.1% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
A total of 435,500 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in April, up 5.3% year-on-year, of whom 35.3% were foreign nationals.
