April 11 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights in Bulgaria rose 16.2% year-on-year to 42.8 million levs ($24.9 million/21.9 million euro) in February, official statistics showed on Monday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreigners jumped by an annual 18.7% to 21.3 million levs, while those from Bulgarians climbed 13.9% year-on-year to 21.5 million levs, the National Statistical Office (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights in Bulgaria increased by an annual 16.8% to 903,500 in February. Out of the total overnights, 39% came from foreign tourists.
The largest increase in overnights, by 22.4%, was registered by four- and five-star rated hotels.
Four and five-star hotels serviced 73.7% of the total number of overnights by foreign tourists and 37.1% of the total overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
