November 11 (SeeNews) - The revenue from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria rose by 1.5% year-on-year in September to 166.7 million levs ($94.0 million/85.2 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Revenues from overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists increased by 13.8% year-on-year in the ninth month of the year, while revenues from overnights of foreign nationals decreased by 1.8%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria fell by 2.3% to 3.1 million in September.
The largest decrease in the number of overnights, by 4.6%, was registered by three-star hotels which reported 31.0% of total overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists and 19.9% of the overnights of international visitors.
A total of 847,300 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in September, up by 1.4% year-on-year.
