May 12 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria increased 13.9% year-on-year in March, reaching 39.8 million levs ($22.1 million/20.34 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals grew 25.5% on the year in March, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists added 4%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights in Bulgaria added 5.5% on the year in March, reaching 782,600.
The largest increase in the number of overnights, by 7.3%, was registered by three-star hotels. Four and five-star hotels serviced 72.5% of the total number of overnights of international visitors and 35.3% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
A total of 382,036 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in March, of whom 31.8% were foreign nationals.
