June 10 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights in Bulgaria rose 12.1% year-on-year to 37.8 million levs ($21.9 million/19.3 million euro) in April, official statistics showed on Friday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreigners grew by an annual 10.6%, while those from Bulgarians climbed 13.1%, the National Statistical Office (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights in Bulgaria increased by an annual 19.9% to 413,600 in April. Out of the total, 31.7% came from foreign tourists.
The largest increase in overnights, by 15.5%, was registered by four- and five-star rated hotels.
Four and five-star hotels serviced 73.1% of the total number of overnights by foreign tourists and 35.1% of the total overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
