November 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's revenue from tourist overnights increased by 39% on the year in September, reaching 165.8 million levs ($ 84.3 million/84.8 million euro), the statistical office said on Thursday.
The revenue from foreign visitors amounted to 103 million levs, while domestic tourists generated 62.8 million levs in September, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights reached 2.52 million in September, up 25% on the year. Overnights spent by foreign citizens numbered 1.42 million.
In September, the total number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria rose by 26% on the year, reaching 781, 039. Of them, 346,494 were foreign visitors, the NSI said.
