SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 5 (SeeNews) - The number of residential building permits issued in Bulgaria in the second quarter of 2022 grew 28.9% on an annual comparison basis, reaching 2,249, the statistical office said.

Compared to the previous quarter, the number of residential building permits issued in the April-June period increased by 21.6%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement on Thursday.

A total of 20 permits for the construction of office buildings were issued in the second quarter, a decrease of 23.1% on the year. Compared to the previous quarter, however, the number of construction permits for office buildings was 11.1% higher.

In terms of other types of buildings, a total of 1,164 permits were issued in the second quarter, which represents a year-on-year decline of 4.1%. Compared to the first quarter of this year, the number of issued permits was 8.7% higher.
