SOFIA (Bulgaria), July 22 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria's Rakovski municipality said on Wednesday it has completed a water cycle project worth 57.9 million levs ($32.4 million/29.6 million euro).
After two years of construction and rehabilitation works, a total of 146 kilometres of water and sewage mains and a new wastewater treatment plant were put into operation, the municipality said in a press release.
The new wastewater treatment plant will serve more than 14,000 citizens.
The project was launched in April 2012 and is co-financed by the EU-funded operational programme Environment, the state budget and the municipality.
Rakovski is located in central Bulgaria.
