SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Power Distribution South, part of Austrian energy group EVN, said on Monday that it has signed a 2.35 million euro ($1.3 million/1.2 million euro) cables delivery contract with local cables and wires manufacturer Elkabel.

The deal was signed on November 20, Power Distribution South said in a notice. 

Under the terms of the contract, Elkabel will be responsible for the delivery of 0,6/1 kV insulated power cables with a total estimated length of 441.2 kilometres. 

Power Distribution South received five offers in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract. 

The products portfolio of Burgas-based Elkabel, the largest manufacturer of wires and cables in Bulgaria, includes different types of power cables, telecommunication cables and conductors, according to information published on its website. 

Power Distribution South operates the power grid in southeastern Bulgaria.
