Bulgaria's electricity production went down 28% on the year in March, reaching 3,705 GWh, which also represented a monthly decline of 9.9%, the statistics office said on Tuesday.
No annual or monthly increases were recorded in the output of any of the energy product categories monitored, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly report.
Earlier this month, Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant at Kozloduy shut down Unit 5, one of its two reactors of 1,000 MW each, for planned annual maintenance scheduled until the beginning of June.
Bulgaria's overall output of oil products dropped by 33.9% year-on-year to 424,000 tonnes in the third month of 2023, while natural gas production was half of last year's volume, at 1 million cubic metres (mcm).
In monthly terms, there was no change in the production of liquefied petroleum gases and natural gas.
In terms of deliveries of energy products, there was a slight monthly increase - of 0.4% - in the delivery of natural gas, but decreases were registered in all other categories.
Year-on-year, growth was reported in the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases - by 34.4%, with declines in deliveries for the remaining categories.
