SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's electricity output rose by 6.5% year-on-year in April, reaching 4,119 GWh, while natural gas production fell by 33.3%, the statistical office said on Wednesday.

The country's oil products output increased to 539,000 tonnes in the fourth month of 2022 from 342,000 tonnes in April 2021, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly report.

In yearly terms, electricity deliveries declined by 22.6% to 2,634 GWh in the review month, whereas deliveries of oil products fell to 339,000 tonnes from 388,000 tonnes.

Natural gas deliveries to Bulgaria decreased by 31.3% on the year in April to 202 million cubic metres (cu m). At the end of April, Russia's Gazprom cut off gas supply to Bulgaria over the refusal of the Bulgarian government to accept the Russian demand to pay in rubles for the deliveries.

Compared to March, deliveries of natural gas dropped by 42.3% in April.
