May 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy said that it has signed an 8.5 million levs ($5.2 million/4.3 million euro) deal with local engineering company Dietsmann Energoremont Holding [BUL:6EG] for part of the planned annual maintenance works on the plant's operational units.
The contract was signed on April 16, NPP Kozloduy said in a public procurement notice on Wednesday.
Dietsmann Energoremont Holding was the only company which submitted an offer in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract, according to the notice.
On April 17 NPP Kozloduy signed a 27.1 million levs deal with local Atomenergoremont for repair works related to the planned annual maintenance of units 5 and 6.
NPP Kozloduy shut down its Unit 5 for planned annual maintenance on April 21. The works are expected to be completed by end-May.
The power plant's Unit 6 is currently operating at 104% capacity, following the successful completion of a project for increasing the unit's capacity.
Kozloduy NPP has two operational units - Units 5 and 6 - of 1,000 MW each. The plant's four other units, of 440 MW each, were closed down to address nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to Bulgaria's accession to the bloc in 2007.
