March 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy said on Thursday that it has signed a 28.3 million levs ($15.8 million/14.5 million euro) contract with the local branch of Russia's Rusatom Service for upgrade of the neutron flux control systems of units 5 and 6.
The upgrade of the neutron flux control systems is related to NPP Kozloduy's project for increasing the operating capacity of its two units to 104%, according to a notice by the power plant operator.
The contract was signed on February 28.
Rusatom Service, part of Russia's Rosatom, submitted the sole bid in the tender for the contract.
NPP Kozloduy has two functioning units - 5 and 6, of 1,000 MW each.
