July 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant has reconnected its 1,000 MW Unit 6 to the grid, after resolving a technical problem in the electricity generating section that activated the circuit protection system on Wednesday afternoon, the power plant operator said.
All systems and equipment of Unit 6 are operating normally after a four-hour pause during which the reasons for the shutdown were eliminated, the NPP operator said in a notice on Wednesday.
Kozloduy's other 1,000 MW unit, Unit 5, is currently operating at full power.
The power plant operator completed the most recent planned annual maintenance of Unit 6 in October 2018.
Kozloduy NPP is operating two units of 1,000 MW each. Four units, of 440 MW each, were closed down to address nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to Bulgaria's accession to the bloc in 2007.
