SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy said on Thursday that it has launched a tender for awarding a 14.5 million levs ($8.4 million/7.4 million euro) contract for supply of casks for storage and transport of spent nuclear fuel.
NPP Kozloduy expects the procedure to attract offers from two candidates, the power plant operator said in a tender notice.
Candidates should prove that they have carried out deliveries of similar magnitude within the three years preceding the date on which they submit their offer in the tender, or the past three full financial years.
The deadline for expressions of interest is July 7. Selected candidates are expected to then be invited to submit an offer in mid-August.
NPP Kozloduy has two units of 1,000 MW each. Four 440 MW units were closed down to address nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to Bulgaria's accession to the bloc in 2007.
