November 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH] said it expects to resume normal production at its nitric acid unit which has been shut down over a technical malfunction.
The emergency shutdown continues as the company is working to resolve the issue, Neochim said in a bourse filing on Tuesday, citing a preliminary estimate.
The company first announced on Monday that it halted operations over a technical glitch related to a low pressure turbine. Neochim added at the time it has started a process of resuming production after taking measures to resolve the problem.
According to Tuesday's statement, the start-up activities have been suspended and the company is cooling down the installation in order to establish the extent of the damage. The duration of the repair work will depend on the exact nature of the issue, Neochim added.
Neochim also suspended temporarily operations at the nitric acid facility in October because of a technical problem which was subsequently resolved.
As at 1032 CET on Wednesday, shares in Neochim traded 2.24% lower at 43.60 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
