January 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH] stopped operations at a unit for the production of ammonia due to a technical issue, the company said on Tuesday.
The measure was taken following a deterioration of regulated indicators of production ammonia and a risk to the technological process at the feed-in of liquid ammonia in isothermal storage, Neochim said in a bourse filing.
The emergency shutdown of the ammonia unit also led to an unexpected discontinuation of the ammonium bicarbonate production.
Neochim said it has taken measures to establish the reasons for the technical glitch and solve the issue.
In the past months, the company experienced a number of manufacturing disruptions at its ammonia and nitric acid production units. Most recently, the firm fixed a technical problem in the ammonia unit in November.
As at CET 1156 on Tuesday, shares in Neochim traded 2.44% lower at 40 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
