February 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian battery manufacturer Monbat [BUL:MONB] said it booked a consolidated pretax loss of 2.86 million levs ($1.59 million/1.46 million euro) from continuing operations in the fourth quarter of 2022, which represents deterioration of 155% compared to the pretax profit recorded in the same period of 2021.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) from continuing operations fell by 16% on the year to 8.85 million levs in the October-December period, the battery manufacturer said in a bourse filing on Tuesday.
Fourth-quarter net sales slipped by 2.3% year-on-year to 106.6 million levs.
In the full year 2022, Monbat achieved a pretax profit of 8.62 million levs from continuing operations, which represents a 65% drop in annual terms. Full-year EBITDA decreased by 23.8% to 35.4 million levs, while sales climbed by 5.4% to 388.4 million levs.
The company recently reported a standalone net profit of 5.51 million levs for 2022, up from 1.2 million levs in 2021.
As at CET 1326 on Wednesday, shares in Monbat traded flat at 4.30 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
