May 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian car battery manufacturer MonBat [BUL:5MB] said on Tuesday its consolidated net profit rose to 8.4 million levs ($4.8 million/4.3 million euro) in the first quarter of 2017, from 7.5 million levs in the like period of last year.
Consolidated net sales revenue rose to 78 million levs in the review period, compared to 63.9 million levs the year before, MonBat said in a bourse filing.

Cost of materials increased to 54.9 million levs in the January-March period, from 46.2 million levs last year.
The company’s operating profit rose to 10.6 million levs in the first quarter, from 9 million levs in the corresponding period of last year.
MonBat operates four plants for manufacturing and recycling of lead-acid batteries, diodes and light-emitting diode luminaires.
As at 15:00 CET on Tuesday, MonBat shared were traded 0.97% higher at 10.909 levs in a volume of 30 units.
