June 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian battery manufacturer Monbat [BUL:MONB] said on Monday that it has held laboratory tests for several types of three-phase battery energy storage systems (BESS) it has developed for use in various industries.
The modules can be installed independently or stacked as a complex system in support of renewable energy generation infrastructure, Monbat said in a press release.

This is the next stage of Monbat's go-to-market strategy for industrial BESS, which the company successfully pre-tested in May. The technology is intended to allow users to tap into self-generated electricity and avoid peak energy prices on the market.
"In recent months, we have succeeded in the intensive development of conceptual storage systems oriented towards both industry and households, for which existing and potential clients already have expressed interest," Monbat industrial batteries division head Bozhidar Nekeziev said.
The equipment consists of individual modules that can store up to 20 kW, with batteries and active equipment installed in a container and operated by a monitoring system.
As a large industrial lead batteries manufacturer, Monbat plans to offer systems equipped with 12HVR190C battery strings, but the product range will also feature systems equipped with lithium-ion modules. The company also said it is in the final phase of preparations for commercialising BESS systems for households, micro- and small businesses, it added.
As at 1247 CEST, shares in Monbat traded 2.33% higher at 4.40 ($2.40/2.24 euro) levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
