April 11 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian telecommunications company Mobiltel, a unit of Telekom Austria Group, said on Wednesday it aims to complete the implementation of its 4.5G network across the country by the end of summer 2018.
The company has invested 120 million levs ($76.0 million/61.3 million euro) in the modernisation of its network since January 2017, Mobiltel, which operates under the Mtel brand, said in a statement.
The investment will allow the company to quickly upgrade to 5G when this becomes possible, the statement reads.
In Bulgaria, Mobiltel competes with the local unit of Norway's Telenor and the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), which operates under the brand name Vivacom.
