May 22 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian telecommunications company Mobiltel, a unit of Telekom Austria Group, announced on Tuesday that it has adopted the A1 brand, replacing its current Mtel brand.
The new brand aims to demonstrate that Mobiltel is not only a mobile network operator but offers the full range of telecommunications services, the company said in a statement.
In September last year, Telekom Austria Group said it will gradually roll out its A1 brand across all of the group's operations.
„In the fragmented European telecommunications markets, the Telekom Austria Group aims at fostering its perception as a powerful international company by means of a unified brand,” Alejandro Plater, CEO and COO of the Telekom Austria Group, said at the time.
In Bulgaria, Mobiltel competes with the local unit of Norway's Telenor and the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), which operates under the brand name Vivacom.
