January 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned coal miner Mini Maritsa Iztok said on Thursday that it has signed a 9.6 million levs ($5.4 million/4.9 million euro) contract for the purchase of petrol from local fuel trader Insa Oil.
The deal was signed on January 24, Mini Maritsa Iztok said in a notice on Tuesday.
Insa Oil submitted the only offer in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract.
Mini Maritsa Iztok's coal mines, in southern Bulgaria, sell their output mainly to three thermal power plants located nearby, two of them owned by ContourGlobal and AES, and one state-owned. The two power plants owned by ContourGlobal and AES generate around 30% of Bulgaria's electricity output.
