December 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned lignite mining company Mini Maritsa Iztok said it has awarded two one-year deals for the procurement of conveyor belts totalling 13.4 million levs ($7.7 million/6.8 million euro) to local company Georgi Stefanov - Zlatarov.
The awarded firm will deliver 15,000 metres of rubber conveyor belts as well as docking material, Mini Maritsa Iztok said in a notice on Monday.
Both deals were signed on December 8 following a public procurement tender that attracted offers from four candidates.
The open-pit coal mines operated by Mini Maritsa Iztok are located in southern Bulgaria and sell their output mainly to three thermal power plants situated nearby, owned respectively by ContourGlobal, AES and the Bulgarian state. The power plants owned by ContourGlobal and AES generate around 30% of Bulgaria's electricity output.
