June 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's former ruling party GERB said on Wednesday that it has introduced a motion of no confidence in parliament against the coalition government of prime minister Kiril Petkov.
The move is motivated by the failed economic and financial policy of the government, the party of former prime minister Boiko Borissov said in a social media post.
GERB has 59 MPs. For the motion to succeed, it has to be backed by at least 121 MPs in the 240-seat National Assembly.
Last week, the government's former junior coalition partner There Is Such a People (TISP) left the coalition, with all of its four ministers resigning.
On Tuesday, Petkov said he will focus on securing a parliamentary majority after a junior partner left it, so as to keep judicial reform on track, rejig the anti-corruption commission and win approval for a budget revision bill.
