March 8 (SeeNews) - The gross domestic product (GDP) per person employed in Bulgaria went up by an annual 2.1% to 47,224 levs in 2022, the statistical office said on Wednesday, citing preliminary data.
Gross value added (GVA) per person employed and GVA per hour worked both increased by an annual 2.2% in real terms last year, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
GVA per person employed in the industrial sector was 49,124 levs in the review period. In the service sector, an average of 41,536 levs gross value added was generated by each person employed. Labour productivity was the lowest in the agricultural sector at 13,323 levs per employee.
The number of persons employed in the Bulgarian economy was about 3.5 million people in 2022. The total number of hours worked stood at 5.669 billion.
