March 7 (SeeNews) - The gross domestic product (GDP) per person employed in Bulgaria rose by an annual 3.2% to 30,646.3 levs ($17,722/15,668 euro) in 2018, preliminary data from the statistical office showed on Thursday.
GDP per hour worked increased to 18.63 levs in 2018 from 17.44 levs the year before, the National Statistical Institute said in a statement.
Gross value added (GVA) per person employed increased by 2.3% in 2018, while GVA per hour worked grew 2.2%.
In industry, GVA per person employed amounted to 28,583.3 levs last year.
The lowest GVA per person employed, of 6,304.7 levs, was registered in agriculture.
A total of 3.52 million persons were employed in the country's economy at the end of 2018. The total number of hours worked was 5.79 billion.
