September 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy is shutting down its 1,000 MW Unit 6 for planned annual maintenance, the power plant operator said on Wednesday.
The works are expected to be completed by the beginning of November, the power plant operator said in a press release.
During the planned outage, the reactor will be reloaded with fresh nuclear fuel.
In the past 12 months since the last reloading, Unit 6 has produced over 8.2 billion kWh of electricity, the NPP operator said.
Kozloduy's other operating 1,000 MW unit, Unit 5, is running according to plan.
