SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 12 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy has opened a tender for annual maintenance works on its units 5 and 6 at a total value of 41.4 million levs ($25 million/21.2 million euro), a public procurement notice showed.
The value of the contract does not include value added tax (VAT), according to the notice posted in the website of Bulgaria's public procurement agency.
Works should be completed by March 30, 2016.
Bids should be submitted by January 19.
The Kozloduy NPP remained with two operational reactors of 1,000 MW each after the country closed down four units of 440 MW each to address nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to its accession to the bloc. Bulgaria joined the EU in 2007.
