November 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s jobless rate increased by 0.2 percentage points month-on-month to 6.7% in October, the government's employment agency said on Wednesday.
Year-on-year, Bulgaria's unemployment rate fell by 1.2 percentage points in October, the employment agency said in a statement.
The number of unemployed people registered with labour offices countrywide fell by an annual 14.7% to 220,172 as at end-October. On a monthly comparison basis, the number of registered unemployed people rose by 3.2% in October.
The number of people who found a job in October totalled 20,456. There were 14,168 registered job vacancies in October. The highest number of vacancies was registered in manufacturing – 4,435.
Bulgaria, a nation of some 7.1 million, had an economically active population of 4.3 million as at end-2016, according to the country's statistical office, NSI.
