September 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's trade deficit rose to 3.4 billion levs ($2.1 billion/1.74 billion euro) in the first seven months of 2017, compared to a shortfall of 2.2 billion levs in the corresponding period of 2016, the country’s statistical office, NSI, said on Tuesday.
Exports increased 13.8% on the year, reaching 29.8 billion levs in the January-July period, while imports rose by an annual 17% to 33.2 billion levs, the NSI said in a statement.
In July alone, Bulgaria's exports rose 9.8% year-on-year, while imports increased 8.1%.
