October 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's trade deficit rxpanded to 4.0 billion levs ($2.1 billion/1.74 billion euro) in the first eight months of 2017 from 2.6 billion levs in the same period of 2016, preliminary data from the country’s statistical office, NSI, showed on Tuesday.
Exports increased 12.9% on the year, reaching 34.1 billion levs in January-August, while imports rose by an annual 16.2% to 38.1 billion levs, the NSI said in a statement.
In August alone, Bulgaria's exports rose 7.3% year-on-year, while imports increased 10.8% on the year.
