September 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's overall industrial producer price index (PPI) surged by an annual 50.3% in August after increasing by 42.5% in July, the statistics office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, the PPI increased by 8.7% in the eighth month of 2022, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly report.
The annual growth in producer prices on the domestic market in August was 68.2%, while the increase was 12.5% in a month-on-month comparison. At the same time, producer prices on the non-domestic market rose by 22.4% year-on-year and by 1.4% month-on-month.
Prices increased the most, by 130.6% year-on-year, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. Manufacturing was costlier by 22.7%, while prices in mining and quarrying industry rose by 9%, NSI data showed.
