November 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's general industrial producer price index (PPI) increased by 41.7% year-on-year in October after surging 56.8% in September, the statistical office said on Wednesday.
Compared to the previous month, the PPI declined by 6.2% in October, mostly due to a 15.3% drop in prices in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply category, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly report.
Producer prices on the domestic market grew by an annual 55.4% in October after jumping 78.1% in September. Last month's increase was mostly due to a 94.1% rise in the prices of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
At the same time, producer prices on the non-domestic market climbed by 19.6% on the year in October.
Compared to October 2021, the most compelling price increases in Bulgaria's manufacturing industry were recorded in chemicals and chemical products -- by 52.3% and in the manufacture of wood, wooden and cork products except furniture -- by 46.0%. Domestic producer prices in food products manufacturing jumped by 30.0% on the year.
