April 16 (SeeNews) - The average annual household expenditure per capita in Bulgaria rose by 10.6% year-on-year to 5,772 levs ($3,306/2,925 euro) in 2018, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday.
Consumer expenditure per capita totalled 4,692 levs per capita in 2018, accounting for 81.3% of the total household expenditure, NSI said in a statement.
Social insurance contributions accounted for a further 7.3% of the total, followed by tax expenditures with 5.5%.
The average annual household income per capita increased by 7.6% to 6,013 levs in 2018.
Wages and salaries made up 55.5% of the total household income, followed by pensions and self-employment income with 27.3% and 7.0%, respectively.
