December 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's house price index rose by an annual 9.0% in the third quarter of 2017, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
Prices of new dwellings increased 5.5% year-on-year in the July-September period, while prices of existing dwellings rose 10.9% on the year, the NSI said in a statement.
Quarter-on-quarter, Bulgaria's house price index added 2.0%.
Prices of new dwellings grew 2.0% compared to the preceding quarter, while existing dwellings' prices rose 1.9%.
According to Eurostat data, 82.3% of the Bulgarian population lived in a dwelling they own in 2016, significantly above the EU average of 69.3%.
