August 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's trade deficit rose to 3.3 billion levs ($2.0 billion/1.7 billion euro) in the first half of 2017, compared to a shortfall of 2.2 billion levs in the corresponding period of 2016, the country’s statistical office, NSI, said on Wedensday.
Exports increased 16.3% on the year, reaching 25.1 billion levs in the January-June period, while imports rose by an annual 18.8% to 28.4 billion levs, the NSI said in a statement.
In June alone, Bulgaria's exports rose 16.3% year-on-year, while imports increased 13.1% on the year.
