August 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's gross foreign debt rose 4.3% year-on-year to some 41.3 billion euro ($42.3 billion) in May, the central bank said.
Gross external liabilities at the end of the fifth month of 2022 were equivalent to 52.3% of the gross domestic product (GDP) forecast for 2022, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a monthly report on Friday.
As at end-May, gross external liabilities with remaining maturity of over one year amounted to 25.34 billion euro, or 61.3% of the total.
At nearly 7.3 billion euro, the general government gross foreign debt was equal to 9.2% of the planned GDP at the end of May, having decreased by 12.7% compared to the same time in 2021.
