May 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's gross foreign debt totalled 34.18 billion euro ($38.35 billion) at the end of March, down by 0.4% year-on-year, the central bank said on Friday.
The gross foreign debt at the end of March was equivalent to 70.2% of the projected 2017 gross domestic product, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a statement. A year earlier, Bulgaria's gross foreign debt was equivalent to 75.8% of GDP.
Month-on-month, Bulgaria's external debt increased by 0.5% in March.
Long-term liabilities fell by 2.0% year-on-year to 26.2 billion euro at the end of March, representing 76.8% of total foreign debt. Short-term liabilities increased by an annual 5.4% to 7.9 billion euro, representing 23.2% of total debt.
