The project included the construction of 25 bridges, viaducts, overpasses and underpasses, the regional development ministry said in a statement.
The construction of the 24-km Kresna-Sandanski section was financed with EU funds under Operational Programme Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020.
According to data from the registry agency, GBS Infrastrukturno Stroitelstvo holds a 40% stake in the consortium, while Glavbolgarstroy, Geostroy and Patstroy-92 hold stakes of 20% each.
The Struma motorway will link Bulgaria's capital Sofia to Kulata checkpoint on the border with Greece. Its construction has been divided into four parts, of which three have already been built.
